My suburban has been running fine till last week. One day I went to start it and it cranked over good but would not fire.I pulled a spark plug and it looked dry. I have spark, and I can hear the fuel pump run for a second or two then shut off. If I spray some starter fluid into the intake ductwork, it will start and run fine. Since it will run after its started on starter fluid I assume the fuel pump is ok. (It was replaced last fall, plus I can hear it pump up pressure and stop when the key is turned on) It seems like something is not allowing the injectors to deliver fuel while the starter is running, but, after it starts on fluid, they are fine. Also, after it starts, I can shutt off and restart like normal.

Hello, you need to use a gage and test fuel pressure. Engine cranking or key on, the pump receives battery voltage. Engine running the pump receives alternator voltage. I'm not saying your pump is faulty, but, use a gage to test fuel pressure, key on engine off and running.

Hello, if there is a schrader valve, the gage goes there. If there isn't one or you can't find it, tee into the supply line, make sure there is no pressure on the system. Sorry I couldn't find a picture.

My info says the pressure should be 60--66 key on engine off.

I'd go with oem, original equipment. Oem parts are generally higher priced than the others. Sometimes I go with what I can afford.
