1999 Chevy Suburban will not start

1999 Chevy Suburban V8 Automatic

I have a 99 burban it will not start. Changed the starter. When you try to start the motor turns over then you hear a loud clanking noise. You can also see a sprak from the flywheel. I need help

Sounds like maybe your fly wheel is broken. Is that why you replace the starter?

No one of the bolts was loose. My husband said the flywheel didnot look damaged, but he didnt take it off

I will tell him about the flywheel, and have him remove it. Then if that is not the problem I will get back with you. Thanks for your help

A lot of these chev starters have to be aligned properly with shims so you do mnot have the problem you describe --I highly doubt any bproblems with the flywheel-- check with youyr parts man for proper shims
