I have a 1999 Chev Silverado, 2wd 5.3 ltr engine. One day, and since then the engine cranks several time when cold before starting. When warm it is very hard to start. I have replaced the fule pump, and fuel regulator. Injectors were cleaned about 10,000 miles ago. Fuel filter was also replaced 10,000 miles ago. The check engine light does not come on. Any suggestions on what might be going on?

When warm it is very hard to start. This is the best time to catch the culprit while on the act- Look for spark by disconnecting a few plug wires and grounding to the engine while cranking it over-Do you have spark-No spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-Got spark-check for fuel-No fuel investigate the fuel system

BTW check the coolant temperature sensor the computer uses the signal for cold enrichment during initial start-up
