2000 Chevy S-10

In drive gear I can accell, from a stop ok (not as fast as it should) however after about 35 mph truck will not down shift to accellerate fast but does accellerate will not shift through gears, but if I use gears 123 and shift myself everything works fine good power and accelleration just not in drive or D gear please help with what the cause of this might be. Any ideas would help

Your blazer has what is called a 4l60e transmission with electronically controlled shift actuator. Check your transmission fluid, if it's dark and smells burnt, your transmission is on its way out and there isn't much you can do. If the fluid is red and does not smell burnt, most likely the electronic shift actuator has gone bad.
