Hi,
Two weeks ago my fuel pump didn't prime as it should, so we called the dealership where we'd had the pump replaced. They suggested we tap the gas tank from underneath while someone turned the key. It worked then and we didn't have any problems until last night. Again, we tapped the tank and it started. Guess we should have taken it in this morning, because it wouldn't start tonight and tapping the tank no longer works!
Is this the fuel pump itself or wiring? (The fuel pump is under some warranty so I'm hoping it's that!)

I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago, the problem is in the fuel pump, I would tap the tank once in a while to get it to run but one day I was 130 miles from home and it did not work so I had to have it towed, that was a big expense, I would take it back to where they put the pump in and have them fix it, There should be no way that with a new pump one would have to bang on the fuel tank to get the truck started, especially when a new pump was put in.
