1998 Chevy S-10 clutch issues

1998 Chevy S-10 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 198000 miles

Hi, I have a 1998 2.2L s10. I believe my slave cylinder has gone bad because it will not go into gear. If I do get it into gear when I put it in first it chugs and kind of wants to move even with the clutch pushed in. I was wondering if I was right or if there is somthing else that is causing my problem. Thanks

Hi there,

I would first check that there are no leaks with the slave or the master cyl, if the clutch fluid is low, top up and re bleed, if this improved the system and you start to experience problems again I would be re checking the fluid level and looking for the leak.
