Starting trouble

I have a 1999 Chevy Astro van 150,000 miles. I have been having trouble for the past few months. Most of the time it starts just fine, but once in a while it won't start. It turns over normally, but acts like it's getting no gas. Then a few minutes or sometimes hours later it will start right up. Any ideas please?

The key to solving this riddle is to do testing when the problem is happening.

When it happens, take off the air snorkel to access the throttle body and manually open the throttle plate, spray some starting fluid into it and then crank it. Does it start for a moment. If it does, your right about lack of fuel, if it doesn't your going to chase down a lack of spark problem.

Post back after that point. Inquiring minds want to know
