I have a 555 15-1 compression racing engine, what would cause it to keep on chipping off my fly wheel teeth and the starter teeth.

Check with local auto part store. On some models even when the teeth match up it happens. Some engines in that year needed to have shims installed to keep that from happening. What happens is that the engine and starter not in the statring mode hit. You can also get in touch with summit racing to get the spacers.
