1974 Chevy Nova Engine Starter

When I try to turn the car over it does nothing. There is power to the Starter but its not even clicking or turning the engine over. When I turn the Key nothing happens and Ideas will be greatly welcomed. Thanks for your time

I FOUND THE PROBLEM.I didn't install the neutral safety switch when I installed my new shifter. I don't know if this helps you, but you might want to install a push button starter solenoid and attach it to the starter this would fix my problem and maybe yours too.
