I just had my engine rebuilt on my classic. Engine runs finr however when I turn the key to turn off the vehicle it still tries to run, sputs a little then shuts off. My mechanic told me its the ignition, need replacement. My question is this a sympton of a bad ignition? Does the ignition cylinder need to be changed? The iginition switch? Thanks

Your engine is dieseling/run on could be caused by incorrect idle speed or the throttle plate is sticking open-

Try running the car until it is hot, and then slowly pour water into the carb until the car bogs down, but keeps running. Then pull the throttle to get car up to correct running speed. Do this 5-10 times. Sometimes run on is because of carbon deposits. The water will clean it out
