My far right side dash fan is making a loud noise both when the car is running or off. It starts and stops whenever on its own. I was told it was probably the agitator. I was also told when it finally dies, the fan will stop working and nothing else will be wrong with the car. It is loud but not unbearable to listen to. I was told it could get worse before it dies. It mostly occurs, to my knowledge, after the car starts. But after I turn the car off, it continues to make this noise. I had a dead battery recently that after 9 months was told it was no good. The battery died a couple of months after this problem started. If this noise is because something is running while the car sits in an off position, could it have made my battery die too? I am looking for the source of the noise. Could it be a fan agitator? How serious is it? Will other problems occur because of it?

Actually, I'm not sure what you are refering to when you say agitator. Do you mean the fan blade? Also, the noise sounds like a bad bearing in the fan motor. However, it should shut when you turn the key is off, unless the ignition switch is going bad and allowing power to continue to the motor. If the fan continues to run after you leave the car, yes it will kill the battery. I would try replacing the fan relay and the motor to see if that helps.
