2001 Chevy Impala not cooling enoght

I had my cars freon recharged because it wasnt cooling that much but it still not that cool what can I do im going on a long trip from tx to cali and it gets hot and im low on cash

Does it have automatic temp controls. You will need to take a thermometer and see what the output of the air is. It should be about 20-25 degrees lower than outside temp. If it is its running ok. If not, you will have to have the system checked for leaks

The system runs fine but dosnt get cold enoght sometimes it works good sometimes it dosnt

When doesnt it work? When its really hot and humid? If thats the case the sysytem cant keep up. There is nothing you can do at that point. As long as its in spec, there is really nothing you can do
