MY 1987 corvette just failed the gas tank pressure test. Where should I start, I really do not want to drop the tank till the last resort.

I recommend that you have a shop do a smoke test on it.

Most places only charge you for 1 hour of labor.

Otherwise you will have to start at one end of the car and work your way to the other as you visually inspect every fuel and/or vapor hose and metal line on the car.
