Will a battery loose its charge on the earthen ground. (Not talking about concrete). For example, if I put in on the ground-earth, does the earth's polarity make a difference in draining the battery?

I have a on-going argument with a guy on this. He says it applies to concrete but not the earth, cause earth is considered as "ground". In what way can I get data and prove to him once and for all?

Thanks

Thank yo so much for your replies. Some people are steafast in beliefs. Nowhere on the internet can I find where the common earth/ground is also a myth. The steadfast opinion, is not about concrete, but earth and its polarity, like homes and such having a ground going in.

I keep finding the concrete floor myth, but no explanation of the earth/ground
