The car had been running just fine all day and then just out of no where it wouldnt go no where. The engine stayed running just fine and everything but we would give it gas all it would do is just rev up the engine. The shifter will go all the way up and down but wont shift into any gears.

We need to see if the is a linkage problem or transmission problem. How loose it the shifter when moving it? If it is free-er than normal, then it is probably a dis-connected cable. You can look on the transmission and find the arm that pivots to change gears and check that connection first as it is most accessible.
