Transmission problem
1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My transmission is not shifting out of 1st gear, it start that it was shifting slow, then it when into shifting at higher speed that normal, now it doesn't want to shift at all?

It seem like there is a delayed shifting from first to second gear. Intermediate clutch or band problems can cause that.
Since the the application of bands and clutches is controlled by the hydraulic system, improper pressure can cause shifting problem.
Have it scan and let me know or
