Hi there, thanks for the recent question about my car. I have another problem with my Car listed above (1998). I wanted to know what EST code was. The light came on and the car gets up to about 3,000 rpm's and wont shift just shuts off. This just started. I never had this problem. I checked the fluid it's fine. What do you think is wrong and what is the code mean? Thank you

Good evening,

As far as the transmission, the shifting depends on the 2 sensors. One is the TPS or throttle position sensor and the other is the governor.

If you have a code reader, I would love to know if there are any codes set.

The engine may be topping out from the non shifting issue.
