I have a 1993 cavalier and it will start up and run about 15 or 20 min then white smoke comes out of exhaust and you smell gas then it acts like its not getting gas and stops running then wait about 10 or 15 min and it will start back up and do the same thing I had a new head and gasket put on it about a week ago

Still sounds like the head gasket, or a cracked head, or a warped head.
The fuel smell is a leak somewhere in the system, may be an injector, or a connection not tight.

Take it back to the shop that put the head gasket on and have them fix it (at their cost).
