When does it act this way? Does the engine sound change when it happens? Any strange noises when it happens? Does it shift through all the gears?

Its doesnt make any different noise in the motor all the gears have shifted just jerks and sounds like the rear end going to lock up or something going to lock up

Well that could be anything. Bad chain in the transfer case, Bad U-Joint, Bad gear in a differential, Bad pinion bearing, Bad axle bearing. Transmission failing. It sounds like you need to take it to a shop and have it looked at before something really bad happens.
