When pulling out the transmission is it necessary to drop the exhaust pipe?

Hello,

Ok, if you still have the stock exhaust that has the y-pipe that goes under the tranny bell housing, then then is only about 2 - 3 inches between the pipe and the tranny and about the same or less between the top of bell housing and the body, it would make it easier if you do drop the exhaust pipe away from the exhaust manifold.

.

Make sure you heat up those nuts on the studs where the exhaust pipes both to the exhaust manifolds, cause they are famous for snapping off. Use an acetylene torch but if you cannot get one at least use a propane torch.
