1998 Chevy Astro Steering Wheel vs. Brakes

I turn the steering wheel and I can watch the brakes being depressed before my very eyes. How do I stop this connection? It's as though there's a string connected between the steering wheel and the brakes. I can't just lift the brake pedal, since the connection seems to be hydraulic. The calipers on both sides were replaced the same day, today.

The original problem: the power steering pump needed to be replaced, and it was. Afterwards, the brakes were replaced. We noticed that the brakes were wearing thin on only one side (the reason we replaced the calipers).

So to clarify: We replaced the power steering pump. We noticed the wear on only one side and therefore replaced the calipers. Now, the steering wheel turns on the brakes when out of a neutral (forward) position.

Little help?

I will get more info after work, but either the hydraboost is NG or I check valve between the PS pump and booster may be NG. Hear any PS pump strain? Maybe airbound? Turn wheels in both directions to expel air and check fluid levels, did you flush the PS system after the pump replacement? May have some small sttel bits trapped in the lines/booster.
