My 93 Astro van has an annoying but not serious problem, however, I'd like to correct it. The heater/AC will not blow out of the dash vents when the selector is placed on vent or bi-level AC. Air only comes out of the floor or defroster vents. Please advise. Thank you.

Either your switch on the dash is no good or as a vacuum / electrical problem If you can hear a hissing sound when the engine is running it may be leaking vacuum. If it is an electrical issue the motor that switchs from dash to floor may be stuck ornot working. This can also be a vacuum motor. YOu'll have to reach by the heater and see if you an move it gently one way or the other with yur control on the dash vent. If it moves then it was only stuck, but if not it ay be the motor bad an dyou'll need a test light or volt meter to see if it's getting power when it's called upon. If it's electrical. If it's vacuum you'll have to see if it is getting vacuum through the hose.
