Car will not start after GPS unit was removed

The GPS unit was taken off and now the vehicle won't start. I have bypass the ignition hook the starter straight to the battery. The car would start, but would only run for a minute. Will not start with the key.

Good afternoon,

You triggered the theft system by removing this unit.

You cannot bypass it. It will stay this way until the GPS is disabled in the PCM.

That will have to be done with the factory scan tool.

Any shop that has a TECH 2 scan tool should be able to perform this. Otherwise, you would need the dealer, if they will do it. They are touchy about disabling safety features.
