I have the SEL Plus. I put both my keys in the run position, and neither start my car. When the keys are in the run position, I cannot get the gear shaft out of park. The break is hard to press. I can press the brake, and the brake lights do not come on. Both my automatic keys do not unlock my car. The alarm buttons do not work either. Any suggestions what could be wrong?

This sounds like either an issue with both keys or the transceiver module has failed, and it is not taking the key information and sending it to the PCM to allow it to start.

We need to start with checking for codes and find out what is there because we should have codes that will point us in the right direction.

The fact that the brake lights don't work points to a brake switch but that would not account for all the issues.

However, it is worth starting there if there are no codes because if the brake lights are not working then the push button is not going to start the engine as you are required to push the brakes and the module will not know they are being pressed.

I am attaching the info below on this system and the wiring diagrams below so that you have these to start testing the brake light circuit.

Please let us know what you find, and we can go from there. Thanks
