So I have not driven my car since October 2017. I found out my car needed a new battery because it was completely drained. I put in the battery and started up the car just fine, checked the oil it was a little low, which I would need to get an oil change, and my transmission fluid was a little low as well. I test drove it just to see if any problems arose and when I drove it to a store and waited with the engine on it just simply shut off and the oil light came on. I tried starting it right back up and it did not budge until I waited a few minutes and turned back on and drove home where I parked but waited to see if it would do it again and it did. I know I am going to need an oil change but was wondering is there anything else I could be missing? Is it the oil doing the shutting down or something else?

With it sitting there since October 2017 I would start by taking off the gas cap and smelling the gas. If it is bad you will smell it. With gas sitting that long I would try a new fuel filter and if possible draining the fuel tank. Ethenal has a way of playing games with gas if it sits too long. I have it happen on my own vehicle and found that the gas was bad and it clogged the screen on the bottom of the fuel pump. It might not be completely clogged and is letting a little fuel through. Just enough to let it run a bit and then seem like it is running out of gas. There are other cordinators out there that will probably more input of what bad gas can do to a car. Mike
