So, it started with my car taking a little second to start up, then it got to the point where I had to jump it to start it and sometimes when I went places, I wouldn’t be able to turn the car off. The other day when I was driving the stability, ABS battery etc, lights were flickering. I’d lose power while driving now the car won’t start and when I turn the key it just clicks one single time. Even with it being jumped it won’t start now. A friend of mine and I were looking, and it looked as if something may be disconnected from the starter.

This sounds like a classic battery that has shorted out which will not take a jump to get going. here is a guide to help walk you through the battery replacement steps with instructions in the images below to help you change it out on your car:

This guide can help confirm the problem as well.

Also, clean the cables before you install the new battery.

I don’t think it’s the battery because when I go to the car the dash lights up everything works just won’t turn over; like I said just gives me a single click.

You can reconnect the wire to the starter but remove the negative side of the battery before you begin. Let me know what happens. Upload images of the problem if you can.
