Hello,

I was wondering if you could tell me all the specific tools I will need in hand to change my brake rotors and brake pads? For both front and rear.

Hello,

You will need to jack the car up first either front or rear first. Also you will need a lug wrench and a basic set of tools. ie sockets and wrenches which you can get from Amazon.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/tools-and-supplies click on the tools link.

Here is a video of the job being done which is very similar from front to rear.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken

Hi, so my brake pedal goes to the floor with little to no pressure. The car still brakes but barely, pretty much only when the pedal is pushed all the way to the floor. It barely stops. The master cylinder was replaced with a new one and the brake fluids are fine with no leak and is full. I think I need to do the brakes.

I watched your video on how to install brake pads but I can't figure out how to get the piston pushed back in. Is there an alternative to using a channel lock to get it back in? Thanks in advance.

Are we talking about the front calipers or the rear calipers? The front ones you can use a c clamp. The rears some of them screw in let me know which calipers the front or rears?

The front calipers. I've tried using a C-clamp but nothing doing. It wouldn't move at all.

There is nothing special about compressing the front calipers. Did the pads just wear out is that why your changing them? You could get a caliper compressor there pretty cheap. They have one side looks like the back of the brake pad and there is a forcing screw in the middle of it. You leave a old brake pad in the caliper against the caliper piston. Then put the caliper compressor forcing screw against the old brake pad and screw it in until the caliper compresses.
