Car keeps overheating after awhile I used a radiator sealer but still overheats and when I’m driving the battery gauge starts going down until it’s off, but as soon as I get a jump it turns right on. Took it years back to the local mechanic they charged me $346.00. Then went and got the rocking on my vehicle fixed that cost me $987.00. Now a year later the car starts overheating battery draining and the car starts rocking side to side. Any advice I would appreciate it.

I suspect you have two issues. Let's start with the easier of the two and that would be the battery issue. If these are related it is because you lost your serpentine belt so let's check that first.

If the belt is there and in good condition then we need to check the alternator and the battery. Here are guide that will help with this as well:

Lastly we can get into the overheating issue but let's start with this and then we can figure that out if this does not solve that as well.

Thanks

Okay, the battery was bad and the terminal bolts were stripped (side post)And the overheating I noticed the cap was a little worn out so replaced it. But still overheated. I noticed a little sizzle on top of the radiator.

Okay. So when does it overheat? Here is a guide that will get us started:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/engine-overheating-or-running-hot

We need to start checking the things off the list but we need to start with when it overheats and then does the radiator fan run when the engine is overheating? If the fan is not on then we need to jump power to it. Here is a wiring diagram for your review.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks
