I have a 98 neon that has started running rough. It will drive fine and then the rpm's will drop from 3000 to 2000. The engine continues to run but I get no "drive power". Its like the engine seperates from the transmission and then reattaches. I thought it might be a fuel delivery prob. Replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter. No change. What else should I look at?

I would change spark plugs, plug wires, coil and see if that makes a difference you might be running on 3 cylinders instead of 4
