My muffler seems to bounce as I drive. Yes I am a chick who knows nothing, - am hoping someone can help me out before getting screwed over by the mechanics.

Could this be just a clamp of some sort? Any advice would be appreciated! :)

Did u check to see if the exaust is still under the gm warrenty?Different components have certain warrenties I coulda sowrn the exaust has like a ten yr 100 thousand mile warrenty but if not it should be a hanger the cars isnt that old o it coulda fell off the hanger usualy rubber hangers that hang from the frame shouldnt be ne clamps if its the factory exaust they probley welded the exaust but I could be wrong ive seen stranger things is the exaust louder sience youre noticed it bounce?

There is a strap that wraps around the muffler and has a post or a flat arm that slides into a rubber hanger/mount. You can get htem from the dealer or aftermarket. If you get it aftermarket, there will be a listing for a strap that will work with their brand of mufflers but will not fit the oem such as yours. You need to talk to an experienced counterman. Tell him your system is original and you need a strap that will fit the oem muffler. Secondly the strap will come with a bolt that is too short. You'll need one that is about 4" long.

Or take it to an independent repair shop and let them do it.
