So, the A/C and heater only blow air on the 3rd or 4th fan setting. I thought maybe it was the cabin air filter, but I’ve changed those, and it didn’t help. The compressor does seem to be kicking on though. Not sure where else to go from here w that issue.

As for the transmission I think it may just be failing. 2nd and 3rd gear are both slipping. Tho several people have told me a fluid and filter change may help. I am planning on having it rebuilt but it’s going to be a while before I can do that. Any suggestions on how to prolong a failing transmission?

Hello,

The fan issue is likely due to a faulty blower motor resistor. The resistor located on the blower motor controls the air speed as you turn the fan speed knob. Faulty resistors can make only certain speed work or make it stop working all together.

Here is a helpful guide:

As for the transmission, making sure the fluid is in good condition and correct level would be the first step. Dirty or low fluid level can impact the way the transmission shift.

However, let's get a new post started for the transmission issue only because we want to try and keep each post to one issue just to make it easy for others to find if they have a similar issue.

So if the fluid is ok, let's start that issue on a different post and continue the AC issue here.

I have attached blower motor resistor diagram for your reference.

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
