Got in truck this morning truck cranked fine. Then I was driving my leg slightly slip off clutch truck shut off restarted the truck it continues to crank but not start. So I start troubleshooting different methods to crank and start truck. I checked the inertia switch it's perfectly fine. The switch is down have not been reset at all (at least I do not think). Then I tried the gasoline on rag thing to release into intake soak rag in gas put it on intake didn't work. Still crank no start. Then I went AutoZone to but starter fluid sprayed couple sprays in the intake turn key over still crank no start. So right on driver side I discovered a slow leak coming maybe from fuel pump, by this time I eliminated jump starting. The starter tapping on it still didn't work. So it's not starter. Check the fuel pump relay, should test it to make sure. So right where the serpentine belt is is the fuel pump. So I come to conclusions that I need a new fuel pump kit. Could that be what needed for my truck?

Good afternoon,

Did you verify spark to the plugs? You need to verify that.

Did you check the compression? I would check that as well.

Check the actual pressure before assuming it is bad.

Okay, so these are the steps I will do then. I haven't check none above. I assume it was fail fuel pump. How do you check for compression?

There is a guide attached for the procedure. You can rent a tester at a parts store to see what the actual compression reads.

Okay, i'm on it. After I test that then do I still check the fuel pump or maybe the fuel pump relay to see if it gone bad? I already check the inertia switch it was good.
