The nice thing about older cars like this is that you can pull the check engine light codes without any pricey equipment. Here is a guide on how to do it for Honda's from 1990-1995. Go ahead and get the trouble codes and we will go from there on how to fix it.

First step will be to retrieve the trouble codes it has stored. If you look at the bottom of the dash in the the passenger side foot well you will find a blue two pin connector. That two hole connector is the self diagnostic test port. To use it you can take a short piece of wire and put it into the open contacts as a jumper. Now get a pencil and paper and turn on the key. The check engine light will start flashing.

The codes start at one Which would be one long flash then a long pause.

Two digit codes flash as Long flash followed by Short flash. So for a code 23 you would see F L A S H....... F L A S H...................FLASH......FLASH......FLASH

Between each code will be a longer pause. Write them down as you read them.
