I have the same question. They are the driving lights located below the headlights on the outside, they stay on when the ignition is on. I do not see how they can be replaced from behind and how to remove the entire lens is not clear. I have some LED's I want to try out rather than the incandescent.

The led bulb will turn on the "bulb out" warning light in the dash.

So, no idea how to get to the light bulb? I could live with a blown lamp indicator or could even put a resistor in series with the lamp. Any help is appreciated.

Got it done. Small hands reach into the access hole behind the headlight and twist to remove the daylight running light socket. The blue/white LED's look fantastic and no blown bulb indicator comes on. Thanks for your patience and help. I will highly recommend you guys. Sincerely, Scott

How do you change the corner tail light bulbs on 2012 jetta is this a sealed unit or separate bulbs
how do you remove the lamp.
The top part of the lamp has gone out but there is only a small opening to the lamp, has it got to be removed to replace the bulbs.

Remove the little square carpet cover, you'll feel a circular plastic fasteners, Undo to the plastic fastener and the whole taillight pulls out from the rear of the vehicle.

The brake lights and tail lights usually use the same bulb. They are double filament. Replace the bulb that stays out when in park.

I did change the bulb. What confuses me is that if I go into reverse both lights on each side work when I brake. Only the light on the passenger side doesn't stay on when in park. But the other light on the drivers side stays on.
