My headlights are bright and all the lights light up on the dash when I push the start button to try and start the engine. But it barely wants to turn over. I read online that Nissans have a fuse right next to the positive post on the battery. Could this be bad and why it wont start? The tiny plastic box it's in reads 250A. How do I replace this fuse? Please don't tell me it might be the alternator. Yikes!

Thanks,

If the starter is turning slowly, the first thing I would do is have the batter load tested. Most parts stores will do it for free. The reason I say this is because it sounds like it is basically dead. Keep in mind, the lights on the dash require little power to light. The starter places a heavy load on the battery.

Here is a guide to help confirm the battery failure.

As far as the alt, if the light wasn't on when the vehicle was running, chances are it isn't the problem. However, once we get it running, we can check that.

Please run down these guides and report back. Let me know the results.
