I have a 1998 altima and a 1999 altima. The 98' was wrecked but ran good. The 99' has a good body but has a rod knocking. Both cars ran just fine the day I pulled the motors and trannys out. The next day I put the good motor in the good body. Everything was exactly the same, every sencor, every plug, every hose, every wire, absolutly no differance. With everything done and hooked up I put the battery in it. Then I put the key in the ignition and cranked it over, no start. The fuel pump is working, ive got fire through the plug wires, if you spray starting fluid in the breather it will start until it burns all the fluid. Ive checked all the wires and hoses, ive checked the computer hots and grounds, everything checks out good. I put a scanner on it and checked all the sencors and they all check out. Their is no injector pulse. Do you think its the security system and how do you reset it. I tried to do it by unlocking the doors with the key and still no start. Its been 4 days of hair losing, kicking, cussing and still "NO START"

I cant make the horn or lights honk and flash even after setting it by locking the door with the key and then opening anything. Today I changed out the computer with the 98' and still no luck. Runs as long as you spray starting fluid in but when you stop it dies.

You need to put the old computer back in the car the one it came with. Please read what i posted about replacing the ecm. Also what model altima do you have?I also posted the security operation it says it it disables the starter circuit not the injector pulse.Did you check for a injector pulse with a noid light and there wasn't a pulse?Have you tested the fuel pressure?Do you have power to the injector's with the key in the run position on the black and red wire's too them if not check fuse 21 in your left side inside fuse box.If you want to trouble shoot why your security system isn't working follow that first trouble tree i posted in my first post and let me know what symptom number it leads you too and i will get you that trouble tree.Let me know what you find and what model altima you have.
