My car started normally, put it in gear and moved a short distance when the engine died, all the lights come on. When I tried to start the car again the engine would not turn over. I waited 20-30 minutes and tried to start the car again and this time it started. It has started up properly since the incident.

What could be wrong? I just bought the car a week ago and don't know if the car has a history of this problem.

Hi jbridgez@yahoo. Com, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

Intermittent problem are always hard to deal with in your case I will perform below when it refuses to start instead of waiting for that period of time to catch it, if its fuel or spark related problem.

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 in away from ground have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor /distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, ECM, Ignitor camshaft and crankshaft sensors and computer. Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

Your car started normally-it tells me its cranking over and will not start-Be specific-I understood exactly what I was doing you fail to properly describe your symptoms-I gave you something to start that is not an answer I was fishing you out to get to the source of the problem. How much was your donation and I'll request for it to be return-Thank you very much for your negative feedback-You didn't give me a chance to help you.

It appears that the replier misunderstood the symptoms I gave him/her. I meant that when the key was turned there was no response from the engine at all. Then after 20-30 minutes when the key was tu

You should have just came back and tell me it wont crank at all/nothing I would have given you a different answer
