VSA and check engine light flashing have had a few mechanics check it out. Started back in March replaced timing chain, cam sensors, crank sensor, spark plugs, starter, battery terminals, have had computer relearned about 3 times. Still the problem comes back.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

The idea that the Vehicle Stability Assist is involved, that leads me to believe there could be an issue with a wheel speed sensor. Do you have any diagnostic trouble codes?

Also, does the engine continue running normally when this happens?

What I would suggest is to check for diagnostic trouble codes first. If you don't have one, I would confirm there isn't a problem with the wheel speed sensors. Here is a link that explains how to check them:

If you turn the VSA off, does the problem stop?

I attached two pictures. The first shows the locations of the components related to the stability control. The second pic shows where the on / off switch is located.

Let me know. If you know the diagnostic trouble code, I will be able to help a lot more.

Anytime the stability control is affected, that is where I start. I have even seen low brake fluid issues cause similar problems.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,
Joe

Hi John, could you upload the codes you are getting? Also, has the issue been resolved with the lights you had? They could be tied together. That's why I ask.
