Why does oil pressure read 0 at an idle and light comes on but when accelerated light goes of and reads better oil pressure?

Hello,

Does your car run any different than usual?
You could possibly have a faulty sensor which displaying erratic pressure which may or may not be the actual pressure.

Is the check engine light on? If so what are the codes?

I have attached how to check the oil pressure as well as diagnostics of the pressure sensor. That way you will know if it is defective before replacing.

Let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
