I came to a stop the other day at the end of an off ramp and while waiting to pull out I reved my engine twice and then it stalled. It will not start now and I have had a few people tell me that it could be the fuel pump. It is a '05 Silverado W/T 5 speed manual trans. When I tried to restart it on the off ramp it sounded like the engine was clicking and trying to turn over but would not actually start. Any idea's?

Hello,

Just to clarify, the engine will crank but not start or no crank just clicking noise?

Since it stalled unexpectedly it could be for a failed fuel pump or faulty crank sensor.

Can you hear your fuel pump come on?
If you do not hear the pump check the fuel pump relay first.
The relay is located in the junction box under the hood (see diagram).

Also you can test to see if you have fuel pressure
.
You should have 55-62 PSI of fuel pressure.

Another possibility is a faulty crank sensor.
Typically when the crank sensor fails it will stall the engine without any warning and you won't be able to start it back up.
The crank sensor is located on the lover right side of the engine, next to the crankshaft pulley.
