I have a 05 colorado z71 with a 3.5l. It stopped running while I was driving. It will restart but will only stay running if I keep foot on the gas. I had a obdII scan done and showing trouble codes for the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. Could that be the problem? Has a slight misfire while running when I keep my foot on gas.
It is showing three codes the crankshaft position sensor the camshaft position sensor and a misfire code

The crankshaft position can cause the dying. Can you get me the exact code numbers? That would really help me help you. Also do you have a multimeter to do some testing?

The Poo13 and P0014 are cam sensor solenoid circuit etc and the P0016 and P0017 is crank shaft position sensor correlation to cam shaft position.I looked at the trouble tree for the P0013 cam position solenoid circuit and the first thing it has you do is use a tech2 scan tool to command the cam sensor to advance 90 degrees to see if the ecm can do that. Its going to take a very expensive advanced scan tool to trouble shoot and fix this. Your best bet would be to just bite the bullet and and bring it in for repair.
