Car started rattling a few days ago then the oil light stays on after you shut down car the rattling is in the front passenger side of the engine. Right before car stopped it sounded like something snapped and the car turns over and sounds like its going to start but it does not.

This sounds like two thing have happened. First the oil pressure dropped either due to an oil pump failure or it just ran dry of oil and cause the rattle. This rattle was most likely an engine noise due to a lack of oil. Then the engine seized and broken the timing belt. Now you are trying to start the engine and it doesn't start because the crankshaft is the only thing spinning.

Here are some guides that will help with this but we can start to confirm this with a compression test. I suspect you will have little or no compression on the cylinders.

Below you will find the info from the manual on how to check and replace the belt if you have no compression.

Please run through this and let us know if y9ou have a question. Thanks
