2001 Mitsubishi Montero engine is smoking

Ive got a 2001 mitsubishi montero and its overheating and smoking with a strong smell I looked in the back part of the engine and it looks like its leaking and squirting out coolant out of a hose would this be my problem? Also im not sure if on the coolant tank there is one hose connected to I think the transmission and the other hose is free not sure if that correct either. Or would it b that my head gasket is blown or manifold is crack?

Start with the simple stuff first before you go looking for expensive problems that might not exist. Hoses are supposed to hold fluids in, not let them leak out, so you already found something to repair. Replace that hose, then check to see if there's still more symptoms.
