Dear Sir / Madam

I own a Mitsubishi Pajero 3.5 liter V6 GDI and have the following problems can you help?

1. The engine vibrates at around 2000rpm; above and below this figure the engine is quite smooth

2. If I take off with full throttle from a standing start the engine remains in 1st gear and labors at the high end revs

Thank you
Paul

Hi prestons,

Thank you for the donation.

I suspect the problem of vibrations at 2000 rpm to be from the EGR. As to the labouring at high rpms, there are many possibilities. Eg are TPS out of sdjustmenr, timing belt out of sync.

Has the Check Engine Lamp ever showed while driving? For Mitshubishi sometimes the CEL does not show but error codes are stored in the ECM/PCM. Get a diagnostic scan to find if there are any Data freeze frames. If any found, please let me know the exact code to enable me to get the correct info.

Was any repairs or parts replacement done on the vehicle recently or prior to the above happening?

Thank you.

Hi prestons,

The EGR valve is located on the intake manifold. You need to check the system, not just the valve.
