Mitsubishi Galant issue

I just bought a 2001 mitsubishi galant and when I was backing up out of the driveway the car cut off on me not once but twice. It started right back up and I haven't had the problem again. What could that be?

No, I had half a tank of gas in the car. I just started the car and tried to back out when backing out it cut off on me once then I restarted and tried backing out again, and it did the same thing. The third time I sat there for a minute and then it was fine.

Most likely you have an idling control issue. Have the IAC and throttle body cleaned and retest.

Have the spark plugs checked as well.
