Can overheating be caused by the engin management light that keeps comming on, on my kia carnival 2.5 v6 2001 madel

It should be the other way round. The overheating is turning the CEL on due to some fault detected. Get a free scan done at Autozone and post the trouble code here so we can understand what is wrong.
