Electrical problem

I have a dodge ram 1500 2001 with the 5.9 lt and when I hooked up to a trailer this morning using the factory installed plug the truck lost the turn signals, emergency flashers and brake lights, as well as power to the brake control box. I have checked the fuses( all appear okay) and have tried switching the flasher, but neither worked. I noticed in the fuse box under the hood a trailer relay. Could this be the problem or something else?

Check for bad grounds. It sounds like when you plug in, the ground is lost. Also, using a test light, check to make sure there is power to the plug. It could be disconnected.
