Heater core

What do I have to do to replace heater core in my Chevy Astro? I hope it is something I can do myself.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Remove the heater hoses. Refer to the following procedures:

o Heater Hose Replacement - Inlet
o Heater Hose Replacement - Outlet

3. Remove the screws (9) that retain the cover to the heater case assembly.
4. Remove the straps (8) that retain the heater core to the heater case assembly.
5. Remove the heater core (7) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the heater core to the vehicle.
2. Install the straps that retain the heater core to the heater case assembly.

3. Install the screws that retain the heater core to the heater case assembly.

Tighten
Tighten the screws that retain the heater core to the heater case assembly to 2 N.M (18 lb in ).

4. Install the heater hoses. Refer to the following procedures:

o Heater Hose Replacement - Inlet
o Heater Hose Replacement - Outlet

5. Refill the cooling system.
