2000 Dodge Durango Repair

For some reason the trans fliud backed out of the dip stick on to the manifold cover caught fire for 30 seconds. Then I noticed a small hole in the cover and it won't start now. How much would it cost to repair and what happened to cuase this

Check the vent on top of the transmission (not on the bell housing). You'll have to get underneathe and check o see if there is dirt (or whatever) is blocking the vent. If so, this will allow pressure to build up inside of the transmission and blow the fluid out of the dipstick hole (or any other hole for that matter).
