1997 lincoln continental v8-intech front wheel drive with a valet remote start and security system. When I get in the car for the 1st time of the day it starts right up but when I say go to the store for example 5+ miles away and I get out and shut it off than get back in say 30 minutes later when done it starts but cant hold the idle so it stall's seconds after. Any ideas on what could be the problem. Was told so far (clean idle throttle, o2 sensor)

I suspect this is a purge valve related issue. It depends on what code this actually was because it could be a fuel pressure issue.

However, I suspect the fuel related code was actually emissions related. If this is the case, then the purge is sticking open, and it causes the engine to run poorly because it is too rich.

Please let us know what code this actually was.

However, we should also check the fuel pressure and find out what the pressure is when this is happening. Here is a guide that will help with this:

If all this checks out, then we need to run through this guide for stalling at idle issues.

Once we get more info on this, we will have a better idea but let's start with this and go from there.

Thanks
